Biography

After graduating, Charles Bayles took a first job with the Oregon State Highway Department, moving in 1938 to the US Army Corps of Engineers in California. After serving in the Commissioned Corps in World War II, Major Bayles entered civilian practice in 1946 to supervise work on civilian and military projects, including US installations in the Philippines and Australia, for the North American Defense Command (NORAD). A professional engineer in Oregon, Colorado and California, he has designed and built industrial and residential facilities in those states and elsewhere. Since his retirement to Grants Pass, he has engaged in research related to energy efficient automobiles, alternative power generation, and gravitational theory!
